OH NO, NOT AGAIN!

OH NO, NOT AGAIN!

Once again I have the Weather Channel on the television. This time, the uninvited and unwanted incoming guest is Hurricane Michael. North Carolina is suppose to be impacted by the tail end of the storm, hitting us sometime tomorrow night. We are tired and worn down from Hurricane Florence and have no room for another storm. Jim Cantore, a frequent visitor to Wrightsville Beach, is cautioning everyone in the path to prepare.

I am surprised at the guttural reaction I have to watching the coverage of Michael. My heart goes out to those directly in the path who will be devasted by the fury of the storm. I have such a new appreciation of what a Category 1, 2, 3, or 4 hurricane. I cannot even grasp the thought of a Cat 5 after living through Florence. I literally pray to God for the people who will be effected including, power loss, food shortage and structural damages to houses, schools, etc.. One month after Florence, our community is limping back to normal, but evidence of the storm’s remnants are still visible everywhere.

So hang in there co-storm trotters and know that we are all pulling for you. May Michael come and go quickly and leave little damage on its journey.
