Today I am beginning a new journey by starting this blog. I will be sharing thoughts, tips and strategies for finding health and happiness in our everyday lives. It seems odd to think of beginnings in this phase of my life. I am 64 years old, married for 39 years, have grown sons and friendships that span half of a century. After four decades of working as a health professional and a college professor, I retired and enjoyed all of the freedoms that come with retirement. I especially liked my volunteer work at a local health clinic. It was during this time that I began to have tremors that manifested as the first signs of Parkinson’s Disease. It took me by surprise since I had no family history of the disease or other known risk factors. But there I was with the challenge of having a degenerative disease with no cure. What happened next is a large part of why I wanted to start this blog. I discovered having Parkinson’s has not ruined my life, but enhanced it! Join me on this journey.
