Cleaning Closets

Cleaning Closets

My clothes closet is a mess. It is time to clean and organize it. I have plenty of room in it since it is a large walk-in closet and my husband has only one third of the overall space. I have lots of room with lots of stuff. I have always had too many clothes, shoes, jewelry and pocketbooks. I like to shop and I like to dress nicely. The combination leads to a crowded space so it is time to rethink my wardrobe and my space.

First, I happily donate any and all pieces that do not fit me. Even if I really like the item, I would rather give it to someone who can use it now. Secondly, I donate pieces that fit, but I just do not wear. Next, I eliminate clothes that are just too tough to wear because of too many buttons or hard to reach zippers. Parkinson’s tremors and tricky closures do not mix. OK, this still leaves many more clothes than I need or could possibly wear. So here comes the hard part. I donate items that fit, I like them, but not enough to take up real estate on the rack or shelves. Yikes, this is tough.

When I am done with this process, I finally have more room to spread out my clothes so I can actually know what I have and not feel like they are all stuffed together. This is good for the mind, body and soul. Now onto the shoes....
