Family
I am reminded so often how fortunate I am to have such an amazing family. Yesterday was one of those times. One of our sons visited us with his wonderful partner and we enjoyed food, drinks and laughter together. As we sat around the table, I savored the moment and thought how very generous of Kyle and B to spend their Sunday afternoon and evening with us. We talked about everything, cars, politics, the environment, work, and Parkinson’s. I am proud of my son for who he is and how he shows his love to us in so many ways. I am also happy that he shares his life with someone who is a person of substance. B is kind and compassionate and cares deeply for our son. This brings me great joy.
Earlier in the day, our other son called us to suggest that we all get together soon for “tea time.” Ryan and his wife, D, had seen my recent blog post with that title. This made me smile. Ryan is a family man. He enjoys doing things with us, not out of obligation, but simply because he likes spending time with his family. We have fun on the boat, at the beach or just hanging out together by the pool. One of the greatest gifts we have as a family is living close to one another making it easy to get together often. How lucky we are.
Family is everything to me! We laugh together, cry together, get angry together and forgive together. My future outlook on Parkinson’s is made brighter because I know my family will there in any way they can. I love them with all of my heart.
