The Language of BLOG
I know only one language, English. Yes, I did study French in high school and college and could get around Paris fairly well, but I am definitely not fluent. Yesterday, I had a cup of tea with my dear friend and fellow blogger, D. She gave me my start in the world of blogging and continues to encourage and support me in this journey. During our chat, we spoke BLOG. We used terms like, post, tag and domain. We conversed about our target audiences and our followers. We talked about headers and tiles. We sounded like we know what we are doing. I guess we do. D has a beautiful blog, deliberateescape.com, that is endearing and enlightening. She has been my role model and my inspiration in the world of blogging.
So why does someone take the time and effort to blog? I think everyone answers this differently. For me, it is a means of communication on and about my journey through life with Parkinson’s Disease. I share thoughts and feelings about having a chronic disease and provide tips on living with a debilitating condition. Most importantly, I try to promote that a positive attitude changes your life when you are dealing with the everyday challenges of a disorder.
Like tweets, texts and instagrams, blogs are just another platform for getting the word out to others. It is difficult to remember what we did before all this technology was available to us. Somehow we survived.... It will be fun to see what the future will bring. All kinds of new social vehicles will replace the existing ones.. But not too soon please. I have yet to master the language of BLOG!
